No Fix - No Fee Policy

Cottingley Computers offer a no fix - no fee policy.This means if we accept a job and fail to fix your machine then you dont pay. You do have to pay a minimum of £30, The no fix no fee means we dont charge over the 1st hour for work or any parts

Accounts

When you create an account with us, you must provide us information that is accurate, complete, and current at all times. Failure to do so constitutes a breach of the Terms, which may result in termination of your account on our Service. You are responsible for the password that you use to access the Service and for any activities or actions under your password, whether your password is with our Service or a third-party service. You agree not to disclose your password to any third party. You must notify us as soon as possible upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account We will have no option but to security block your machine IP address this is unlockable on a customers request.

Deposits & Advanced Payments

Cottingley Computers will sometimes request a deposit depending on the job price, the size of the job and if any parts need purchasing in advance to complete the job. Deposits paid will be deducted from the final bill and a receipt will be given as proof of payment. Sometimes we authorize cards only as a guarantee payment will be received. full payments made in advance will clear any invoice due at the completion of the job, the service or repairs being done by ("US") our company.

Re-installs & Additional licences

we reinstall software or offer additional licences & updates at a reduced price. Licences are for 1 machine or CD only additional licences MUST BE PURCHASED SEPERATE AT A REDUCED PRICE we can install & update on-line most of the time but this can be decided at the time of booking. we sometimes need you to bring your machine to us but this is rare with online updates. When we re-install windows or software we backup your content and create relevent system restore points. Once the job is complete we restore all your files minus harmful software which caused the issue in the first place. This could be virses e.g. (malware, wannacry or ransomeware) or anyother security threat we find during our initial scan

Basic Fee & Refunds Policy

We have a basic fee of £30 & don't offer any refunds, All our work comes with a full 12 month guarantee unless stated otherwise. The no refund policy applies to all software weather installed by us or sold seperately for a self install by the customer. We do however refund any faulty parts purchased through or from Cottingley Computers. Generally refunds can take upto 72 hours to process and will be paid into a UK registered bank account not cash. Please retain any receipts provided by us for any parts purchased. We also need the faulty parts returning to us so we can return to our supplier.

Cottingley Computers has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third party web sites or services. You further acknowledge and agree that Cottingley Computers shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with use of or reliance on any such content, goods or services available on or through any such web sites. We strongly advise you read there terms & conditions along with any user agreements mainly paypal & ebay before proceeding further.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend access to our Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms and Conditions or any policy in-place. All provisions of the Terms which by their nature should survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity and limitations of liability. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease, stop and your IP blocked. If you require to terminate your account, you may stop using the services or click here to cancel.

Delivery & Returns Procedure

We endeavour to dispatch your goods within 1 day of a purchase being made unless the prodct is a download which we will immediatly make the download available. If products are purchased before 2pm then a same day dispatch service will operate. In the event that any purchase is made after 2pm then the items / products will be dispatched by 10am on the following day unless a £6.50 special postage payment is paid then the item, product or service will be delivered before 1pm the following day. Customers can have the option to immediately download digital copies of there products, This will bypass any dispatch and postage times. Alternatively if products are material then normal postal procedures apply. We do not offer or issue refunds on digital downloads or any software on DVD or USB. We refund some products in the event that they are damaged or have malfunctioned. Please contact us for further details on our delivery, refund or returns policy. Please retain all receipts for proof of purchase in the event a refund is required.

eBay & Paypal Transactions Policy

You may download software immediatly or purchase products or services via our website but immediate payment must be received and cleared via bank transfer or by credit or debit card on our secure system controlled by worldpay which is a paypal alternative. We no longer accept paypal payment but we accept credit and debit cards the same way via worldpay. We don't accept paypal as we don't allow 21 day holds on any funds which is what paypal do under there user agreement and there terms & conditions. We dont offer refunds on any software. You must provide your name, address, phone number and email address. We shall record your details securly and use the email for sending customers the download links and the address for posting out media. Worldpay is a alternative to paypal for debit and credit card payments

Repairs & Work carried Out / Completed

Cottingley Computers offers repairs at the cheapest rates posible. We have a flat rate of £30 plus additional costs for work carried out. Normal windows installations are charged at the flat rate. Cottingley Computers purchase parts from our specialist suppliers who operate within the united kindom, We offer a 12 or 6 month guarantee and warrenty on all parts and services purchased through Cottingley Computers, Parts supplied by the customer unless authorised by Cottingley Computers will not have a valid warrenty. Products or parts purchased at the same time as Cottingley Computers registered anti-virus (bought from and installed and maintained by us) get a 12 month guarantee. This protects your operating system and keeps you safe from virses like (malware, wannacry or ransomeware and malvertising).

Governing Laws Of The United Kindom / Europe & United States Of America

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law provisions the terms are monitored by Cottingley Computers. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of the Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. If any provision of the Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of the Terms will remain in effect. the Terms are the entire agreement between the ("you") the customer & ("us") Cottingley Computers. breaking the agreement will terminate your account and require you to re-sign up

Changes To Our Terms Of Service & Policys

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time without warning to anyone. If a revision is material we will try to provide at least 60 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion. Autodata 3.45 Important Information

Autodata sometimes need a fresh copy of windows to run correctly as conflicting files in the registry stop the software running properly, Although this isn't always needed. This can be installed online or in-store and we can also provide and install windows as a fresh copy and get the software running if needed. We can no longer accept postal requests for memory sticks unless a flat payment of £6.50 recorded postage is paid & we don't offer refunds on this software and sometimes you must disable settings in bios on windows 8 and above, We accept no liability for loss or damages on windows 8 or above. You do occasionally get issues above windows 7 due to security features, built into microsoft pre-registered machines. we recommend you to have windows 7 for installing & running this software then you can upgrade to windows 8 or 10 but if we have any issues in-store or online we will offer a copy of windows or re-install windows for you free of charge. Then we will install autodata and get you up and running smoothly.

Threatening & Abusive Behaviour Towards Staff Members

We don't tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour towards our business or any staff members working for or employed by Cottingley Computers. Should any abusive or threatening behaviour happen either in our shop or via any digital way including facebook, ebay or email and any others then we will either stop or business relationship or make further charges by cancelling a service e.g. free install will become chargable at £30. Our staff members deserve to work in a secure, stable and none feared enviroment. All threats and abuse will be reported to the relevent authority including the police for investergation.
